Michiru is the most art-cultured and talented of the senshi. She expresses her creative talent through her painting and violin music. Michiru also pursues the art of swimming quite vigorously, fitting as her element is water-based. For the most part, over the course of the series, Michiru's character really doesn't get an opportunity to show its true colors because Michiru is generally overshadowed by her lover Haruka. As the less dominant of the two, Michiru takes on Haruka's beliefs as her own. However, Michiru is very competitive and this trait of hers surfaces when she challenges Ami to a race and they tie. As Michiru, she is quite friendly and kind to the inner senshi but once she transforms into Sailor Neptune, a colder being takes over her. This viewpoint probably arises from her belief that the inner senshi are weak and should stay out of the outer senshi's way as they search for the Holy Grail. Sailor Neptune is considered to share quite a few similarities with Sailor Mercury, intellect and water-based powers. However, of the two, Sailor Neptune has the stronger powers. When Michiru first makes her appearance in the S season, she attends Mugen Gakuen Academy. Later in the Stars season, she attends Juuban High School with the rest of the senshi. Like Haruka, she also denies a relationship between the two of them.
