Hotaru is a young girl that is introduced in the Sailor Moon S season. Most of the storyline is based upon her and her father Professor Tomoe. Hotaru is very introverted and meets very few people except Chibi-Usa and then later the rest of the senshi. She is physically weak but carries the ability to do extreme healing to people. Sailor Saturn is the second most powerful senshi with her Silence Glaive Surprise attack. She mainly uses her Silence Glaive staff to attack because it is less powerful. At the end of the the Sailor Moon S season, Hotaru is reborn as a baby and given back to her father as he also becomes good again. Setsuna takes Hotaru back in the Stars season and makes her older and evolving her powers. Otherwise, Hotaru plays little part in the Sailor Stars season and doesn't appear at all in the Super S season.
